Although I am an ophthalmologist, the vast majority of my academic and clinical studies consist of strabismus surgery in adults and children, and pediatric eye diseases and treatments.
I have prepared this website for two main purposes;
First, to provide my patients and their families with a reliable resource about common eye problems, and second, to share a summary of my scientific and clinical experiences with my physician colleagues on strabismus and pediatric eye diseases.
For this purpose, I have included all the text and photographs of my book titled “Children’s Eye Diseases and Strabismus” which I wrote in 2009. “Academic” We have presented it under the title. Due to time constraints, it is not possible for me to answer your questions simultaneously. However, we will provide answers to frequently asked questions. “ Frequently Asked Questions” section or “Strabisity, Lazy Eye and Glasses; What You Are Curious About” You can find it in the section. Lazy Eye (Amblyopia)

Amblyopia is loss of vision in one or both eyes because of strabismus, anisometropia (different defects in the two eyes), ametropia (refraction error) or deprivation (lack of visual stimulus).

Congenital Tear Duct Occlusion

The main symptom of a baby with congenital tear duct occlusion is epiphora, (watery eyes) and occasional purulent discharge due to lack of tear drainage.

PROF. DR. E.CUMHUR ŞENER

Graduated from TED Ankara College, and Hacettepe University Medical School, Ankara, Turkey. Specialized at the Hacettepe University Medical School, Department of Ophthalmology in 1991. Assigned at the same university as associate professor in 1995, and as clinical professor of ophthalmology from 2002-2014. Currently at private practice.


Basic and clinical research at the Netherlands Ophthalmic Research Institute, Amsterdam, the Netherlands in 1993, and at the Johns Hopkins University Wilmer Eye Institute Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Department, Baltimore, USA in 1994. Faculty at the ORBIS project of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Chennei, India in 2002. Co-founder of the Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Division of the CELAMIG Eye Hospital, Baku, Azerbeijan in 2008.


Specialized in strabismus (children and adult) and pediatric eye diseases. Published, lectured and presented more than 100 original scientific research at the national and international ophthalmology meetings, and peer reviewed journals. Author of several chapters of textbooks and the monographs of “Şaşılık ve Tedavisi” (Strabismus and its Management) (2002), and “Çocuk Göz Hastalıkları ve Şaşılık” (Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus) (2009).

Nystagmus is the presence of involuntary movements in one or both eyes. Nistagmus may be in the vertical, horizontal or torsional. It can develop as a result of ophthalmological, neurological or vestibular pathologies.
