  • Strabismus Treatment In Adults

Strabismus in adults can result from insufficient treatment of childhood strabismus or can be acquired. A strabismus originating from childhood may not cause any significant problems in adulthood other than aesthetics. The most prominent complaint caused by acquired strabismus in adults is double vision and/or abnormal head position.

Although the treatment of strabismus in adults is significantly similar to that in children, utmost care should be taken to avoid creating a new double vision problem as a result of the treatment. Strabismus surgery can also be performed safely in adult patients in whom adequate improvement has not been achieved with previous surgeries.
