Your basic complaint, your own and family history of medical problems, other accompanying diseases, regular medicines you use, external examination of the eye and surrounding tissues after questioning your drug allergy, visual acuity, refractive error, intraocular pressure and strabismus measurements, eye movements, light reaction, color vision, peripheral vision, examination of the tissues located in the anterior and posterior segment of the eye.

In most of these examination methods, active participation of the patient is required. In order to make the evaluations, it may be necessary to drip different drops into the eye. Some of these drops may cause a short period of burning sensation and a blur of vision and light that may last for several hours. Therefore, we recommend that you have sunglasses with you. Depending on the drops, short-term fever and redness may occur in infants, in which case an antipyretic can be used by your physician.

Eye examination can be performed at any age from birth. The examination of children shows some differences compared to adults. In order to be able to detect and treat the problems correctly, it is very easy for children aged 2 to 4 years to prepare psychologically at home before the examination.
